I’ve got a couple of quotes for today …
This first one links to Arsenic and Old Lace in that one of the characters thinks that he’s Theodore Roosevelt. So I’ll use a quote from Roosevelt
This goes out to all the moms out there:
Alone of human beings the good and wise mother stands on a plane of equal honor with the bravest soldier; for she has gladly gone down to the brink of the chasm of darkness to bring back the children in whose hands rests the future of the years.
And then, another quote (this goes out to everyone who has a mom that is still alive)
CALL YOUR MOTHER
And this last is just more lines from Arsenic and Old Lace — cause it’s funny (and touches back to Teddy — who just might be my favorite character in the play). I grabbed this from the movie quotes from imdb.com — because my script is in my “office”
Reverend Harper: Have you ever tried to persuade him that he wasn’t Teddy Roosevelt?
Abby Brewster: Oh, no.
Martha Brewster: Oh, he’s so happy being Teddy Roosevelt.
Abby Brewster: Oh… Do you remember, Martha, once, a long time ago, we thought if he’d be George Washington, it would be a change for him, and we suggested it.
Martha Brewster: And do you know what happened? He just stayed under his bed for days and wouldn’t be anybody.
