Only in America

I’m going to put my movie line Friday (But this week it’s TV line) along with my quotation. Saves time.

You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America’s Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn’t want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named ‘Bush’, ‘Dick’, and ‘Colon.’ Need I say more?

So yesterday a friend of mine and I were in the minivan when we came up behind a truck with an advertisement for a restaurant.

The advertisement was bilingual (English and Spanish) and it was for a Chinese buffet.

Yep — I said BIlingual. Not trilingual (there were no Chinese characters).

One point of interest that I noted was that if you read the Spanish version the hours of operation were

Sunday – Thursday 11 – 9
Friday and Saturday 11 – 9:30
(okay so I can’t type Spanish — just go with me here)

BUT if you were reading the English version the hours were

Sunday – Thursday 11 – 9:30
Friday and Saturday 11 – 9:30.

So I guess that means you get an extra 1/2 hour at the buffet on weekdays if you’re English speaking.

Is that racist??
